SOME COSTS OF THE WARS SINCE 9/11

At least 940,000 people have died due to direct war violence, including armed forces (on all sides), contractors, civilians, journalists and humanitarian workers.

15,250 US troops and contractors have died in these conflicts.

The US is conducting counterterror activities in 85 countries.

The economic cost of the post-9/11 wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Syria and elsewhere totals $8 TRILLION, not including future interest costs.

Post-9/11 rates of suicide for both active-duty personnel and veterans are outpacing those of the general population. (Historically suicide rates among military personnel and veterans have been lower than that of the general population.) At least four times as many active-duty personnel and war veterans of post-9/11 conflicts have died of suicide than in combat.

CONCLUSION: Any positive outcomes of post-9/11 conflicts, mostly unleashed by the US and its allies, are not nearly worth the costs.
