ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE IN THE NEW REGIME

President-elect Trump’s environmental team is working on these proposals:

•  Withdrawing the US from the Paris climate agreement

•  Eliminating every federal office working to end pollution from the burning of fossil fuels

•  Shrinking the size of national monuments in the West to allow more drilling and mining on public lands

•  Revoking a waiver that allows California and other states to set tighter pollution standards than the federal government

This is just a sampling of measures we will see under the new administration. Lawsuits may ensue, but it will be difficult to defeat many aspects of the new plan for the environment.
