$895 Billion for War
$895 BILLION FOR WAR
The US House of Representatives debated and passed the military budget on 12/11/24. There was no debate on the obscene amount of money ($895 billion), even though the US is supposedly not at war. The debate revolved around provisions in the bill on transgender healthcare, access to abortion, diversity equity and inclusion programs, and in vitro fertilization. These are all issues worth discussing, but they are also a smoke screen to avoid dealing with the main issue of a military budget overloaded with money for weapons and for personnel (the Defense Dept. now has 3 million military and civilian employees) while social and educational programs are stressed for funds.
