Patrolling the Empire: Another Chapter

PATROLLING THE EMPIRE: Another Chapter

Not many were aware that the US even had a base in Jordan when the news came that 3 American soldiers were killed on 1/28/24 in a drone attack there. And when the report of the death of the soldiers came out, few were concerned about the US military response. After all, most Americans are hardened to the consequences of having an empire to patrol. The reaction came on 2/2/24, when the US unleashed B-1B bombers from US soil on 85 targets at sites in Iraq and Syria supposedly occupied by “Iranian proxies”. 39 were reported killed by these strikes: this is a 13-to-1 ratio of anti-US forces to US forces, quite impressive but not as impressive as the Israelis have achieved in Gaza, mostly against Palestinian civilians, 22-to-1.

When will the American people wake up to what is being done in their name in the Middle East, among other imperial outposts? And US involvement all across the globe is only made possible by a bloated military budget now approaching $900 billion a year.
