Spain: Legalizing, not expelling, Immigrants
SPAIN: LEGALIZING, NOT EXPELLING, MIGRANTS
Spain (pop. 48 million) has announced that it will give residency and work permits to 900,000 undocumented migrants over the next three years to address a growing need for workers, especially in elder care, agriculture, and hospitality. Spain has a low native birth rate and needs to import workers to maintain prosperity. This is true for other European nations and the US as well, but they are more nativist than Spain.
Perhaps they should or may need to follow the Spanish example.
