WORKERS, UNIONS, STRIKES

In the US, where the top 20% of households earn 52.1% of total income in the country, and the bottom 20% of households earn 3.0% of total income, any organization that can lessen inequality is welcome. Unions are one such organization. But in the US in 2022 only 10.1% of workers belonged to unions.

However, unions are strong in some important industries, for example automotive manufacturing and entertainment. Right now there are strikes in both these industries. In automotive manufacturing the United Auto Workers is slowly rolling out strikes against GM, Ford and Stellantis. And in entertainment writers and actors are on strike. The workers deserve our support, and apparently they are getting it.
